Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) offers a gentle, non-invasive, long lasting solution to unwanted hair on the face, back, legs, bikini or any other body area.

How does IPL remove hair?

Highly controlled flashes of light are absorbed by hair filled follicles lying below the surface of the skin. The absorbed light heats the hair, which damages or destroys the regrowth of the follicle. All without damaging the surrounding tissue.

What ipl hair removal can do for you?

IPL hair removal can be used on most of your face (not your eye area), bikini line, underarm, legs, back, neck, stomach. IPL is suitable for men and women.

The treatment works best on new hairs that are just starting to grow, which is why you will need several treatments in the same area to deal with all the hairs as they begin their growth.

3. Your skin will be examined and your treatment program will be tailored to suit your skin, any medical or cosmetic concerns, your schedule and individual needs.

What ipl hair removal can't do for you?

Using IPL to remove hair probably won't remove 100% of hair permanently, but it will generally reduce growth significantly (80-95%). Any hair growth will be paler, weaker requiring additional treatments.

What happens during a hair removal procedure?

It begins by trimming away the hair above the skin. You will be given dark glasses to protect your eyes from the bright light. A gel will be spread over the treatment area, the IPL hand-piece is applied to your skin and pulse of light begins damaging your unwanted hair. Each shot last only milliseconds so it's very quick.

Are there any possible side effects?

Side effects are rare. You may experience some slight reddening or local swelling at the treatment site, but this typically goes away within hours. On rare occasions, some blistering or bruising may occur, but typically resolves quickly. Also the skin may become darker or lighter following treatment but generally return to normal within a few weeks.

IPL hair removal works best and has the fewest risks on pale skin. The following is not permitted while undergoing treatments:

Sun bathing before and after treatment for at least 6 weeks to avoid skin pigmentation

Do not have IPL treatments if you have been treated for acne with Isotretinoin or Roacutaine at least 2-6 months

Do not have IPL treatment if you are particularly sensitive to light or have any infection around the place to be treated.
